To help the Kids ... BTW I'm not comfortable with heights!
Story
Hi there,
I have decided to make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged young people across Australia, by supporting the Sir David Martin Foundation BUT I am not doing it the easy way! I will be abseiling down a 135m / 33 floor tall Sydney skyscraper sometime during 17 - 18 October 2014 as part of the annual Abseil for Youth.
Many of you know that I've done trekking and even a little mountaineering but maybe you didn't realise that I'm actually quite uncomfortable with heights. I do it because through challenging yourself you grow and develop as a person, and for me that's important. But my concern with heights is nothing compared to the challenges routinely faced by some of our youth – that’s why I’m doing it.
I have never participated in any charitable event like this before but its such a great cause to help disadvantaged young Australians to get their lives back on track that I felt compelled to do something about it. Please join me in helping to make a difference in a young person's life.
You can support me and my fear of heights by making a secure donation. I would also really appreciate it if you could share my page and let as many people know about it as possible. You can also leave an encouraging comment.

Thanks for supporting my challenge and helping to make a difference to youth in crisis!
Thanks, Ian
Activity
Sir David Martin Foundation
Sir David Martin Foundation was set up in 1990 by the much loved Governor of New South Wales, Sir David Martin, four days prior to his death. The Foundation aims to realise the dream of Sir David Martin of an Australian community “where children can grow up in safety with hope and opportunity”. The Foundation raises funds for innovative and effective Mission Australia run youth crisis programs. We provide care, counselling, training and support for young people in crisis and foster community understanding of their needs and potential. With the goal to get more young people off the streets, away from unhealthy situations and into care and rehabilitation. We aim to encourage them in a new sense of self belief so that they can face the community at large without the need for drugs, crime and homelessness.
